New PLUG ‘N’ PLAY
Hearing System
Enhances Active Lifestyles

GN ReSound Launches ReSound PULSE—
The First Intelligently Rechargable Solution

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (October 1, 2006) – At last there’s a hearing system made for the 21st century. GN ReSound, a leading hearing instrument manufacturer known for setting the pace of technological development, has created the new standard for Plug ‘N’ Play hearing support.

With two new forms of recharging technology, wind noise minimization, convenient support and a comfortable fit, GN ReSound’s Pulse hearing aid gives users the freedom to enjoy life without missing a beat.

“Pulse has been developed in response to user needs,” says Richard Jackson, President of GN ReSound, North America. “Hearing instrument wearers are active people with a desire to enjoy life. Having to stop and change batteries in your hearing aid gets in they way of enjoying even the simplest activity. We design our hearing instruments to enhance the lifestyle of the wearer not create additional obstacles to their enjoyment of life.”

INTELLIGENT RECHARGABILITY
Designed for the active hearing aid user, ReSound Pulse needs only to be ported on its sleek recharging unit for five hours, giving the hearing aid more than 20 hours of charge. This technology, known as SuperTune™, means users no longer have to change batteries in the middle of the day. And, ReSound Pulse is truly a Plug ‘N’ Play instrument as it can even be charged via the USB port on almost any computer.
And the convenience doesn’t end there. Although ReSound Pulse primarily uses nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries, it is also compatible with non-rechargeable battery types. Plus, SuperTune adds an extra level of safety by checking a battery’s compatibility before beginning the charge process.
And, if the user still needs batteries, there’s a fully charged backup set that reside in the charger.

CONVENIENCE MEETS SIMPLICITY
As with other GN ReSound AiR products, users essentially get a small computer that fits discretely behind the ear and processes the sounds they need to hear. ReSound Pulse brings together intelligent rechargability plus the technological advances that make GN ReSound products distinctive. From directionality mode that automatically zooms in on voices, to the suppression of wind noise with virtual WindShield™ ReSound Pulse is the easiest instrument to wear in all situations; including outdoor activities like sailing, golfing and cycling.
“We know that hearing aid wearers experience many different situations everyday that challenge their ability to hear,” explains Jackson. “ReSound Pulse has the ability to seamlessly adapt to these changing environments without the wearer having to do a thing. This means a wearer can go from an echoey auditorium to the golf course and then to a crowded restaurant without any trouble.
Other ReSound Pulse features include a range of stylish new colors, a virtually invisible behind the ear design, and revolutionary Open fit design. All of these characteristics mean Pulse wearers hear life on their terms—not the hearing aid’s.
