Online Hearing Tests

Can be taken by someone who has an adult significant other with a hearing loss.

Can you really test my hearing over the internet?

No, it is best to have your hearing tested by a qualified Audiologist who has specialized equipment and skills to accurately evaluate your hearing.

Our "Hearing Tests" are actually
Hearing Disability/Handicap Scales.

What are Hearing Disability/Handicap Scales then?

They are short questionaires created to measure the amount of disability/handicap that a person has due to a significant hearing loss. Another way to say that is, these scales are used to measure the amount of problems that a person might be having in daily situations due to a hearing loss. They are commonly used as a part of a hearing screening program when traditional tests of listening for quiet tones cannot be performed.

Ok, so if I am having a lot of problems listening or understanding words in different situations, and this is starting to affect the quality of my life then it could be that I have a hearing loss. These Hearing Disability/Handicap scales will help to measure how big or little of a problem that I have, right?

Right, generally speaking, the more hearing loss you have the more of a disability/handicap it can be. If your test results are significant, these scales will refer you to our Find an Audiologist page so you can find audiologist who can help.

So I don't need to be seen by my doctor or audiologist to see if I have a hearing loss, I can just take these tests right?

WRONG! If you feel like you have a significant hearing loss you should consult with your physician or audiologist. These tests were designed only as screening tools and cannot take the place of a consultation with a qualified professional.

Also, if you have experienced a sudden hearing loss within the last 90 days, ringing in your ears, sudden hearing loss in only one ear within the previous 90 days, dizziness, pain or discharge from your ears within the last 90 days you should consult with your doctor.

Listed above are several Hearing Disability /Handicap Scales that have been developed and researched specifically to be used as tools in an adult hearing screening program. All are quick and easy to use, simply read the description and click on the name of the test you want to take. It is important to answer all questions on each of the scales.
