Dr. Miller has been in the field of Audiology for about 35 years. He received his Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Utah and has spent his career in clinical audiology at the VA Medical Center in San Diego California. For the past 15+ years, he has served as the head of the VA San Diego Audiology and Speech Pathology Service that now has clinics at four different sites in the San Diego area with a combined staff of 32 and an active training program for audiology students in Au.D. (Doctor of Audiology) programs.
Dr. Miller carries faculty appointments at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU).
Dr. Miller serves on the national VA Field Advisory Council-a group that works under the direction of the national Audiology Program Director in Washington, D.C. in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
He has served as President of the Association of VA Audiologists-a national professional group-and as President of the Academy of Federal Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, a national umbrella group representing the interests of all audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists employed by the federal government.
